Background and Experience
Ms. Gonzalez Chaves works with both employment and family-based immigration matters.

During her time in law school, Ms. Gonzalez Chaves worked at the Human Rights at Home Litigation Clinic where she represented client’s pro bono on human rights issues including divorce, clemency petitions, and immigration concerns. Ms. Gonzalez Chaves also volunteered at several Pro Se Asylum Clinics with the Inter-Faith Committee on Latin America, which prepares asylum seekers to be their own advocates in situations when they cannot access legal
representation. During these sessions, Ms. Gonzalez Chaves would take on the role of translator and student counsel.

During her law school internships, Ms. Gonzalez Chaves returned to Salt Lake City, Utah, and worked on a variety of cases ranging from E-2 investor visas and EB-2 NIW’s to U visas and consular processing.
​
Ms. Gonzalez Chaves is fluent in English, Spanish, and is semi-fluent in French. She is currently learning how to speak Portuguese but can understand it proficiently. During her free time, Ms. Gonzalez Chaves enjoys traveling, reading, snowboarding, and hiking with her dog, Blue.
